PEARL FRYAR:
THE MAN WITH A GREEN THUMB

This film, a short documentary about Pearl Fryar and his internationally recognized topiary garden, was an assignment for a class. I emphasized movement in the film to mimic the movement of the topiary pieces. It was screened at four film festivals around the country and received two awards. 

 
 

HEART TO TABLE

Heart to Table is a narrative film about a woman pursuing her dreams of becoming a chef while representing her roots along the way. I was the cinematographer and also wrote the script with Henry Coonrod. This film explores the balance between honoring your ancestry and becoming your own individual through the use of montages and flashbacks. 

ATOMIC COFFEE ROASTERS

This video advertisement is a collaboration with Atomic Coffee Roasters. The purpose of this project is to inform Atomic’s customers how to make pour-over coffee. This quick step-by-step tutorial is intended for social media marketing. It won a Student Silver Addy for Digital Creative Advertisement at the Midlands American Advertising Federation Award Show. 

 
 

ELEPHANT EXPERIENCE:
GIVE VOLUNTEERS

Elephant Experience: GIVE Volunteers is a promotional video I created in order to showcase the organization’s new travel opportunity. I used interviews of a participant, guide, and manager as well as action shots of participants interacting with elephants in order for the audience to gain a better insight on the trip itinerary.

THE MAN BEHIND NORTH AMERICA’S ONLY TEA PLANTATION 

This film explores the Charleston Tea Plantation and William Hall, the man who founded it. I filmed, edited, and directed this film. It received three awards from the American Advertising Federation. It also received third place in the micro-documentary section at BEA’s Festival of Media Arts. 

 
 

PLASTIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT (PSA)

This public service announcement is a collaboration with Lonely Whale and Point Break Foundation for the purpose of encouraging others to question how they hydrate. This project is an informative advertisement that I directed, filmed, and edited. I used a studio to manipulate the lighting in order to showcase the #HydrateLike campaign’s colors.

MR. BLUE SKY

A short documentary about Blue Sky, the infamous Columbia artist, and his undertaking on making a mural in the heart of the city. I directed and edited this film for 1080C Productions. This project took six months to film and in that time my crew and I captured hours of mural paintings, pedestrian interviews, critics, and fans of this controversial artist.
